Clubmates Travel and ImpactInstitute: Championing choice, connection, and change

At the heart of every My Future My Choice Disability Expo is a clear belief: people with disability deserve access to the full spectrum of life’s opportunities, and that includes travel.

Long-time exhibitor Clubmates Travel demonstrates how accessible travel can unlock independence, joy, and meaningful connection. Their ongoing partnership with ImpactInstitute has helped bring this message to thousands across Australia.

Alicia Stamford, Marketing Manager and disability advocate, reflects on the journey:

“People come up and say, ‘I didn’t know services like this existed!’ That’s the beauty of these expos, you’re meeting people who are actively searching for what’s out there.”

This is the ImpactInstitute difference. Our expos are more than events, they’re platforms for empowerment, designed to help people with disability navigate the complexities of the NDIS and discover services that can truly change lives.

But the impact goes deeper. Alicia shares how the disability expos foster collaboration and innovation across the sector.

“The biggest surprise for me was the value of connecting with other providers. You talk about challenges in the industry you hadn’t even thought of before. You connect on a deeper level and that benefits the people we serve.”

My Future, My Choice Disability Expos are vibrant spaces where community grows, knowledge is shared, and inclusion gains momentum. It’s where the principles of choice and control come to life.

Alicia, who lives with a rare bone condition, embodies this spirit of possibility.

“I’ve broken over 40 bones, but I still travel. I tell people, ‘If I can do it, you can too.’ You’d be amazed how often that changes someone’s mindset right there on the spot.”

These moments, where lived experience meets opportunity, are what make our disability expos so impactful. They’re about hope, visibility, and celebration.

And yes, they’re fun too.

“I loved being near the stage,” Alicia said. “I joined in the dancing, and people told me later they found our Instagram because they saw the energy and vibe we brought to the Expo.”

For service providers, Alicia offers this advice:

“Treat it as research. These events are about building relationships – not just with customers, but with other providers. The more people you connect with, the more they’ll remember you.”

Whether you’re a person with disability, a family member, or a provider, our Disability Expos are where futures are shaped. They’re places to champion the disability community, amplify voices, and create spaces where real change happens.
