Increase your impact by joining us at Australia’s biggest disability expos series

Increase your impact by joining us at Australia’s biggest disability expo series. ImpactInstitute is excited to announce next season’s suite of seven disability expos occurring in key locations along the eastern seaboard of Australia. In 2023, the My Future, My Choice expos bring together more than 1000 locally based disability product and service providers to ignite imaginations and equip over 25,000 attendees for a better future, with more choice.

First held as a local event in Western Sydney in 2014, organisers quickly recognised that people with disability were in dire need of accurate information from government agencies, local politicians, and keynote speakers, and to interact with exhibitors that could spark a picture of a healthier, more fulfilled future. They were keen to road-test the latest assistance technologies, compare products and services, and discover new and life-enriching options.

Nine years on, My Future, My Choice expos partner with and promote key organisations in the disability space, applying their wealth of experience and insight to a program of premium events in an ever-expanding list of locations; including Melbourne, Sydney, Nepean, Hunter (Newcastle), Gold Coast, Brisbane and Canberra in 2023.

The 2023 season will be hosted by celebrity ambassadors from the disability community.  Past expo ambassadors who have thrown their support behind the program include Paralympic gold-medalist Ellie Cole, Penguin Bloom protagonist Sam Bloom, blind motorcyclist Ben Felten, Bali Bombing survivor Ben Tulipan, The Voice’s multi-instrumentalist/singer Connor Wink, and wheelchair rugby star Ryley Blatt, who add their own vision and inspiration to each event.

The program of events promotes community integration with a range of social and recreational activities. All-ability, all-ages entertainers and activities, and café add to the culture-rich, weekend atmosphere.

In a bid to increase accessibility for attendees, ImpactInstitute have partnered with wayfinding company Bindi Maps to provide accurate navigation from public transport and parking to registration at the venue, individual exhibitor booths, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, Information Desks, and food outlets.

Kathryn Carey, ImpactInstitute Event Director, finds great satisfaction in playing a role in something that so positively impacts the disability community; not only helping people discover what real choice means, but for it to make a real difference in their lives.

“Feedback from attendees tells us that they value these events. People come together in a uniquely collaborative environment, and we find that the conversations they have here spark greater understanding, imagination, and partnership,” she says.

“We held our first exhibition on the Gold Coast in July 2021, which was hosted by ImpactInstitute. Although there were some reservations about this being the first exhibition, we had been involved in post COVID, it was well-managed, and all ran smoothly. The Gold Coast Disability Expo has helped Lifestyle Mentoring Services become more recognised within our community, our brand and logo is more recognised and related to, and we have successfully linked in and positively connected to other organisations within the community…. It has helped to grow our business and helped us to refer some clients to other service providers too. We are looking forward to our next exhibition.” Lifestyle Mentoring Service, Gold Coast.
