The Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission needed a partner to help them meet new opportunities and increase their social impact.

The Challenge:

The Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission saw a strategic opportunity to measure social impact outcomes after new ‘positive duty’ laws were introduced in the NT in 2024.

The project goal was to align key stakeholders, investment and resourcing over five years to increase the Commission’s community impact.

The solution:

ImpactInstitute led a face-to-face strategic planning and review process over an intensive one-week period. We utilised empathetic, person-centred application of deep sector experience, academic research, impact reporting and world-class storytelling for whole-of-organisation approach.

Our work included stakeholder engagement, refreshed foundational statements, impact framework and measurement plan, strategic plan-on-a-page with supporting documents, implementation plan and brand refresh.

Outcome:

The comprehensive five-year strategic plan positions the Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission to lead with clarity, purpose, and measurable impact. Aligned to internal resources and external partnerships around a shared vision, the plan enables the Commission to respond proactively to the ‘positive duty’ legislation. It’s a strategic foundation for delivering equitable outcomes, building public trust, and adapting to emerging social justice challengeshallmarks of high-performing human rights institutions.
